A Little Shakespeare to Shake Things Up!

Hi Moms and Dads!

A lot of the House competitions that we have at GIS are sports centered events, but occasionally we like to break these up with various non-sporting activities in order to keep things fun.  This Friday the students will be performing short 5-8 minute skits from 2:20 PM onwards based around short stories that the children know or some of the house captains are going to be making them up.

The Year 1, 2 and 3  students by their respective house are in one play and the Years 4, 5 and 6 are in another.  We will be practicing in lieu of clubs this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with the performances on this Friday 27th of May.

The short skits or plays should be between 4 and 8 minutes long and so the majority of practice work can be done in the next couple of days here at school.  However, you may have already or see some simple lines or songs come home tomorrow according to what the House Captains have in mind for the little performances they are arranging.

It should be very simple ( I hope) and fun so the majority of practice for the event should take place during club time this week.

Further, please keep Monday afternoon from 2:20 PM open for our Year 1 assembly which i’m hoping goes off without any glitches this time around.  🙂  The kids have really been enjoying the preparations we’ve been doing in class for the performance, and It’s sure to be a very cute way to take us into the final month of the school year.

Also, If you haven’t already….Please make sure to send in a black shirt or t-shirt in by this Friday to make sure all the costumes are set for our big performance on Monday.  Should you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to email me directly, and if i don’t know the answer then i’ll do my best to find out for you. Take care and I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead!
